«VOLUNTEER -  put up posters, help dig plants from your gardens and others, help sell plants, help set up, help water the plants. DONATE plants from your overgrown gardens - we will dig and pot them for you. Just call the Friends 802 896 3416.

Library Trustees' Bake Sale  While at the Plant Sale visit the tent-full of tasty, homemade baked goods. If you have never been to a Bake Sale in Wardsboro, you have no idea what you are missing. The local cooks who bring their best cookies, cakes, pies and breads to our tables are the best of the "blue-ribbon" bakers. Proceeds of the Bake Sale benefit the Wardsboro Public Library and goes for books and programs.

Better get to downtown Wardsboro early! The Friends exciting raffle booth is right across from the Parade Reviewing Stand at Town Hall and the Friends' annual
BEST RAFFLE EVER  (to get tickets, click here) WIN THIS KAYAKclick here for more info. Raffle winner will be drawn on Aug. 11 at the Red Barn Affair.

The Friends’ merchandise booth will be selling commemorative T-shirts, Gilfeather Turnip Cookbooks, Wardsboro pictorial history books and more. Our fun booths are open before, during and after the parade.
«VOLUNTEER -  help sell our books and merchandise in our two booths at the parade, help sell raffle tickets, help set up and breakdown our booths.

At the Annual Art Show - Paintings, photography, graphics, fiber art, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry and more fine art crafts are beautifully showcased when the Red Barn is transformed into a glorious art gallery.  Featured Artist - to be announced.

10th Annual Gilfeather Turnip Festival
featuring the
Gilfeather Turnip Contest*

Join the whole town as we CELEBRATE OUR TOWN'S DELICIOUS ROOTS.
An entire family-oriented day dedicated to one of Vermont's tastiest heirloom vegetables. What would old Farmer Gilfeather think to see us all having such a good time with his remarkable hybrid tuber?
SHOP for turnip gifts, the commemorative Gilfeather t-shirt, the Gilfeather movie DVDs, the ever-popular Gilfeather Turnip Cookbook.
LEANR the words to the famous Gilfeather Turnip Song by local compuser and musician Jimmy Knapp. COME to the Turnip Cafe for the turnip recipe tastings and our famous turnip soup. STAY for lots of live music and more. This is a one of a kind culinary event with craft vendors and farmers market tables indoors and under the big tent, too.

Did you grow a really big one? A really ugly one? A very special one?
Enter the morning of the event - bring your turnip to the Contest Registration Table at the festival. Free to enter. Judging at 1 PM.

 November's Crafters' Mondays  
                        Afternoons throughout the month of November                      
1 PM at the Library, 170 Main Street, Wardsboro
FRIENDS CRAFTERS' CIRCLE
Ample parking, all plowed out.      Free.
It's an old-fashioned bee! Join the Friends to make hand-crafted holiday ornaments, wreaths and other items for the Holiday Bazaar. Teach someone your craft, or learn a new one from one of us. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, glueing, glittering, wool hooking, beading, felting, wreath-making and more. Materials and tools provided. 

No cost to participate.
Lots of chatting and laughter at this weekly "Santa's Workshop."
Crafters meet on the warm and cozy the second floor of the Wardsboro Library.

There is no better way to fill your heart with Holiday spirit.. Join the Friends for an all-day, family oriented event. Last year there were more than 75 different things on the Bake Sale tables and thousands of decorated cookies. Free gift boxes for cookies by the dozen, too. There are hundreds of handmade ornaments for sale and every handcrafted wreath always gets sold.

IT'S SANTA! - The big guy arrives at Noon and stays until 2 PM. Each child receives a FREE photo with St. Nick and a small gift from his big red bag as well. HO! HO! HO!

Meet the Husky sled dogs! Wardsboro's hardest working animals, the Siberian Husky sled dogs from Husky Works Mushing Company are stopping by. Who needs reindeer? These loveable, huggable pups are kind and gentle, even with tykes. Learn about what it takes to be a great sled dog.
