The Friends Annual Plant Sale was on SATURDAY, MAY 25
It rained! But our event was another successful fundraiser to make it possible for the Friends to support the Wardsboro Public Library.
Thanks to all who helped! Hope to see you next year.

ART SHOW

Better get to downtown Wardsboro early! The Friends exciting raffle booth is right across from the Parade Reviewing Stand at Town Hall and it features raffles of excellent prizes, Raffle winners will be announced about 1 PM at Town Hall. The Friends are selling commemorative T-shirts, Gilfeather Turnip Cookbooks, Wardsboro pictorial history books and more. Our fun booths are open before, during and after the parade.

Independence Day
ART SHOW


July 4th -
all day in the Library's Red Barn. Free admission.
Exhibition and Sale of fine art and fine crafts, including glass and jewelry. 
Many well-known Vermont painters and artisans.
All genres, all mediums. Affordably priced.
Portion of the proceeds of the sale benefits the Restoration Fund for the Red Barn.

11th Annual
Gilfeather Turnip Festival
featuring the

Gilfeather Turnip Contest*

Join the whole town as we CELEBRATE OUR TOWN'S DELICIOUS ROOTS. An entire family-oriented day dedicated entirely to one of Vermont's tastiest heirloom vegetables. What would old Farmer Gilfeather think to see us having such a good time with his unusual hybrid tuber? He'd be thrilled! SHOP for turnip gifts, the commemorative Gilfeather T-shirt, Gilfeather movie DVDs, and the ever-popular Gilfeather Turnip Cookbook. Learn the words to the famous Gilfeather Turnip Song with composer and local musician Jimmy Knapp. Come to the TURNIP CAFE for the turnip tastings, where local cooks show off their best Turnip Recipes. Stay for lots of live music, strolling musicians and more. This is a one-of-a-kind culinary event!
SHOP the Farmer's Market and Craft Tables, BUY tons of turnips at the FRIENDS TURNIP CART, check out the TURNIP CONTEST, enjoy the strolling musicians.
EAT at the TURNIP CAFE and vote for your favorite dish, listen to live music, see the Friends fundraising exhibits.

ENTER THE BEST OF YOUR CROP!

Did you grow a really big one? An ugly one? The most beautiful one ever? Enter your GILFEATHER TURNIP in the contest and win. Be famous! Entries may be brought  up to 12 noon on the Festival Day. Last year, we had so many turnips to be judged, it was more fun than watching Miss America! FREE TO ENTER.

Plan ahead - buy your seeds or seedlings at the Friends Plant Sale (above).
«VOLUNTEER - put up posters, help serve food, donate a baked good item, be a greeter, help with the Turnip Contest, help sell turnips, help at the Friends sale tables, cook one of the TURNIP DISHES for the cafe.


MONDAY Afternoons throughout the month of NOVEMBER

FRIENDS CRAFTERS CIRCLE
Ample parking, all plowed out.
Free.

It's an old-fashioned bee! Join the Friends to make hand-crafted holiday ornaments, wreaths and other items for the Holiday Bazaar. Teach someone your craft, or learn a new one from one of us. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, glueing, glittering, wool hooking, beading, felting, wreath-making and more. Materials and tools provided.

No cost to participate.
Lots of chatting and laughter at this weekly "Santa's Workshop."
Crafters meet on the warm and cozy the SECOND FLOOR of the Wardsboro Library at 170 Main Street

Holiday Bazaar Bake Sale & Santa


There is no better way to fill your heart with HOLIDAY SPIRIT. Join the Friends for an all-day, family oriented event. Last year there were more than 75 different things on the BAKE SALE tables and thousands of decorated cookies. There are hundreds of handmade ornaments for sale.

IT'S SANTA! 
The big guy arrives at Noon and stays until 2 PM. Each child receives a FREE photo with St. Nick and a surprise from his big red bag as well. HO! HO! HO!
